BASF increase prices on flocculants and coagulants
BASF increase prices on Zetag® flocculants and coagulants
2011-01-18
Ludwigshafen , Germany – January 18, 2011 – Effective today, or as contracts allow, BASF increases prices globally for Zetag® flocculants and coagulants for Water treatment applications by a minimum of 5 to 15%.
Price increases will apply to the following product types:
- Cationic and anionic flocculants
- Organic coagulants – PolyDADMAC and Epiamines
As a committed leading supplier of water treatment chemicals globally, BASF needs to increase prices to secure future product availability, maintain reliability of supply, product quality and invest in innovation to best meet customer needs. Current profitability levels are not sufficient to facilitate that.
Furthermore, costs of raw materials, energy, freight and packaging continue to increase reaching a level that can no longer be absorbed.
The price increase in Europe, Middle East and Africa will be at a higher rate than in other countries and regions.
The products affected by the price increase are used as solid/liquid separation aids in water and waste water treatment applications.
